IPTV traffic management

My IPTV stream is strangely blocked from 2pm until 10pm exactly. That seems strange as the stream works like a charm on my mobile (non EE) or behind a vpn during that period

EE told me that there is no traffic management. Yet it seems there is. Anyone experiencing the same?

EE employs no TM on its BB network - see EE Broadband Traffic Management Policy T&Cs

Hi @PierreGuillaume

If you are using a VPN then your carrier won't know if you are watching illegal TV services. If you are not then the IP for the streams could be blocked by BT/EE as there was recently a fresh round of bannings via the courts recently.

Also depending on your IPTV service it could be the source as these services are a gamble.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

How can we explain that the stream stops exactly at 2pm on the dot and restarts at 10pm?

working well other wise with a vpn.

Hi @PierreGuillaume

I suspect it will be the times your IPTV provider changes IP to try and avoid detection. If it is using a blocked IP for you then the channel that IPTV uses won’t show up. It works when you are on a VPN as your IP is the VPN not the IPTV stream.

In the UK it is always worth using a VPN for these services, or some come with one built in “stealth” etc..

Thanks,
