Huawei HG612 setup as mode

Hi all. Could anyone help me setup unlocked HG612 as modem only? I have my login an pass. Please share screenshot of your set up if can.

I am planing tu use it with my Asus router.

The reason why I am doing this as I having issues with my ee hub keeps restarting itself for no reason. Had 7 openreach engineer visits already and still no luck. Had new ee box and almost everything rewired from master socket to cab and no luck. It must be something to do with REIN. I have heard that this Smart hubs very sensitive to REIN so I want to try old hg612 modem to see if that helps.

Update post:

Since I disconnected EE Smart hub and replaced it with old HG612 modem and  RT-AC68U router I can confirm that my issues with random restarts gone, My broadband is very stable and no single restart since swap day. It looks like the EE equipment is very sensitive to any small REIN issue that you may have in your area.

The Huawei HG612 is a VDSL Modem only. Why do you need 1? Has your Asus no integrated modem?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@nike_bytom  The HG612 does not need to be setup it should work in default mode.

 settings.

You will need to enter your EE username and password in the Asus router in the PPOE

Thank you, all sorted now Hg612 connected to RT-Ac68U and no issues so far. I hope no more restarts.

Actually it is a modem/router with the router disabled for Openreach branded ones.😎

You could just be unlucky with the EE router, but I am sure you will get on better with your own one.

There seems to be quite a few reports over the years of issues with the BT derived routers. I have used my own router for years, and prefer the control it gives me.

What settings (if any) did you change from default on the HG612?

I've just got one but cannot get the DSL light to show, and I cannot get a connection.

@TylerDurdenK  there are no settings on the modem that need changing, have you entered the login details in your router?

If the DSL light doesn't show on the HG612 it can only be 1 of 3 things. Faulty lead from master socket, faulty power supply (unlikely if other lights show) or the HG612 is a brick.
