So basically I have a giffgaff sim which is pay as you go but want to transfer that number to my EE contract phone and sim can I do this ? I

Yes, get your PAC from GG and give it to EE for your contract number.

Check out this help page on how to transfer your number. Once your number ports over, it will take over the temporary one that you got with your contract and continue as normal. Once it goes through (usually the next working day) your old SIM will stop working.
