Hi,
I've just re-joined and took out a sim-only contract the other day with the first bill generated but not due to be paid until end of month and got my GW4 4G today, so can I add now to my account or will I need to wait until first bill paid.
If I can add now, will the add-on just be doubled for next month, seeing the bill already generated
thanks

Ah OK, just wanted to make sure you knew your options, @TFI_YT. 🙂
Yeah I believe that's right.
@Longfellow78 - This should help you too.:
You can find information on available price plans through the Samsung Wearables app.
Our Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G help page explains the steps on how to set it up.

@TFI_YT wrote:I received mine today as well, I'm not a happy punter so far tbh. Trading in my Watch3 45mm for the Watch4 Classic 46mm and I'm a bit frustrated. They've reduced the lug size to 20mm so none of your straps fit from your previous watch, that's not cool. Even though its actually a bigger device. I've now got a drawer full of 22mm straps that are useless. Charge time is still poor, 1hr 45m to charge from 35% on the Samsung wireless duo pad. I got the silver Watch4 as a change from the black Watch3 and it looks really cheap in comparison, the Watch3 imo looks far better. And for a device that's supposed to be bigger, albeit only 1mm, it actually feels smaller to wear because the strap is thinner. Hoping the OS can win me over in time as first impressions as a migration from the Watch3 isn't great for me.
from what i've seen, users are saying the silver version looks smart, I know when I had my Huawei Watch Classic in silver that did look smart, but then switched to black for the Huawei Watch Classic 2 and then Galaxy Watch Active 2.
I think 20mm is the most common size for watch straps/bands as I know when had the Huawei watches it was harder to find the 22mm straps and could no longer use when switched to the GWA2 as that was only 20mm, so in a way I'm quite lucky upgrading from that to the 4 as don't have old straps to dispose off.
The charge time will change, it takes mine about 1hour 30mins from around 25% to charge, but the upgrade from GWA2 is actually worth it, but not had the GW3 so unsure of that

I have the silver and think it looks great. They have obviously standardised all straps to be 20mm as they were on the active 2. which is also what the watch 4 non classic is. I'm pleased it's still 20mm as I have a load of straps too which still fit.
I'm more bothered that I didn't realise I can't get LTE as I don't have a Samsung phone. I didn't see this advertised, only that ECG wouldn't work and I needed to be on EE. I'm absolutely fuming.

Does anyone know if other mobile providers allow the galaxy watch to use LTE on a non-samsung phone so that I can get a new contract with someone else? Thanks.

This is just a case of someone probably not needing to change, the jump from the Watch3 to the Watch4 is mirky, I only did it because of the strong trade in offer and the fact that they're ditching Tizen.
Well I attached some pictures of both the silver vs black but they didn't show when it posted, never mind.

Hi @walkerx interesting you had to call 150 to get the watch and mobile plan linked.
I signed up for a SIM only mobile plan with EE about a month ago, was planning on buying the Watch4 Classic 42mm LTE outright from Currys as they had a trade-in offer on, then adding the £7 per month smartwatch plan. Then I saw EE offering an even beter trade-in offer - £200 if getting a Watch4 on a monthly plan that includes the watch. Didn't actually expect to get the £26 per month watch + data plan as my credit rating isn't great atm but the EE staff put it all through for me and advised the £200 would apply as a credit on my account when they received the device I'm trading in, an original Galaxy Watch 42mm 4G.
When the Watch4 arrived I went through setting it up in Galaxy Wearable and it actually found a mobile plan for the watch without me having to login to EE - I thought that was due to them somehow linking it to the mobile number of the SIM in the phone. Now I believe the Galaxy Wearable app actually picked up the plan for my previous watch. My original Galaxy Watch was also bought from EE years ago but I left EE a couple years back so naturally the 4G for that watch didn't work anymore and it just worked with Bluetooth only.
I realised something was up when I saw the Galaxy Wearable app saying my Watch4 couldn't connect to the EE network. So I chose the option to remove the mobile plan from the app and then chose the 'Set up a mobile plan' option for the Watch4. This time it did prompt me to login to EE but then I get an error message saying I'm not eligible to add another line to my account - it doesn't seem to be picking up that I already have a paired smartwatch plan on my account (which is showing correctly in my EE account - including the watch's own dedicated mobile number).
I'm hoping the Galaxy Wearable app having possibly picked up the plan I had for the original Galaxy Watch years ago hasn't caused some difficult to fix problem! I actually tried to sell my Galaxy Watch in CeX last year to put towards a Galaxy Watch 3 but they said they couldn't take it as their head office had advised of difficultlty removing customers' eSIMs from the device. So I hope the Galaxy Wearable app hasn't somehow copied the wrong eSIM to the Galaxy Watch4 in a way that's difficult to remove. It shouldn't even work like that but you never know! I didn't even think the app would think to pick up a plan (a plan that wasn't even active anymore!) that was linked to another watch when setting up the Watch4 - you'd think each watch in the app would be treated completely seperate from any other settings in the app. Maybe it did actually pick up the correct plan that I just taken out for the Watch4 but for some other reason couldn't connect to the network using that plan.
All I can do now is call 150 later and hope that they can sort it out for me!

@Sparky1986 I never purchased my phone or watch from EE and only got the sim-only contracts from them.
When I connected the watch it knew I was on EE and showed me and EE plan but that was it, I think this first stage is to get a plan activated. After I finished setting up the device it asks you to connect to a mobile plan of which I thought had already been done in step one and was reluctant to do it again until I spoke to someone on the phone.
They confirmed to go through again and stayed on the phone while doing so and checked my account to ensure it had properly linked and not activated another plan.
I got £207 discount on my Watch direct from Samsung and it arrived a week before the actual release date. And got confirmation a few days after sending my old Galaxy Watch Active 2 that I got the full trade-in value (some people haven't). My claim for the £75 Google Play Voucher has also been accepted, but just need to wait for it to arrive.
Also remember if you are upgrading the discount you get is reliant on the condition of the watch you send in and you must return the original strap and charger as well. Also you must ensure the e-sim has been removed of the watch you are trading in if it was a 4G watch.
I suggest you call 150 if it's not connected up properly and they should be able to sort easily for you.
