Full works for Android and Netflix as smart benefit

Customers of mobile operator EE can now add Netflix’s video streaming service as an inclusive benefit on their “Smart” plans. The provider has also made their “Full Works” plan available on Android devices (previously it was only for iPhones), allowing users to choose Netflix, Apple Music and BT Sport.

Hi @Username50 ,

Thanks for sharing! It's good to get a reminder of this coming in.

It seems to have replaced the Amazon Prime Video Smart Benefit on https://ee.co.uk/smart-benefits

Does anyone know the ongoing status of the Amazon Prime Video Smart Benefit? Will it continue for people who joined when it was a Smart Benefit and can it be re-added if it is removed? Will customers who joined before the Netflix introduction have access to exactly one of Amazon Prime Video and Netflix or will access be provided to both (e.g. as an Add-On if required)? At present I do not see Netflix in the Android MyEE app either as a swappable benefit or as an Add-On.

A search for the first few words hits https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2021/08/ee-uk-add-netflix-as-smart-benefit-and-full-works-plan... where a little additional info is available.

Netflix is for new and upgrading customers only, I would suspect until you upgrade, you get Amazon Prime Video.

Nice, the Amazon Prime Video Smart Benefit was one of my main reasons for joining the service provider so I would be very happy if it would be available to the end of the 24 months.

I currently get Netflix access from a kind-hearted donor so wouldn't be interested in the new/replacement Smart Benefit which is likely to block my taking an early upgrade in Nov. I can stop browsing the unlimited data prices now. 😂

My understanding is that Amazon Prime Video will still be available for existing Smart Customers who have already chosen this option untill at least the end of the Contract.

One thing to watch out for though is that at some point in the not to distant future the Amazon benefit may not be swapable, ie, if you swap your Prime Video benefit for Roaming benefit for your Holidays, swapping back to Prime on your return may not be possible, although I'm unsure if or when this maybe implemented or enforced.

One thing that doesn't get mention with Prime Video Benefit is that in signing up you also automatically become a Prime Amazon Member for Free meaning you can take advantage of special discounts and free or express delivery from the Amazon Store, no good to me though as I refuse in principle to buy anything from Amazon.

As for Netflix, good move on EE's part but I don't actually know anyone who actually pays for a Single Membership of Netflix they all seem to unofficially share someone's email or Family Plan for a few Beer Tokens here and there.

Hi @EssexBoyEE ,

I'm in agreement with your thinking.

Amazon Prime Video is activated for me by EE on my Amazon account but sadly there is no automatic Prime Amazon Membership for me (I suspect not for others either). This is really for the best as my previous Prime membership(s) resulted in the huge accumulation of a lot of junk. 😂

Personally I feel that Amazon Prime Video has some gems such as Picard, Lower Decks, and The Boys although others may hate the items which I quite enjoy. ☺
