EE beoadline on BT landline - change router

Hi,

  • I have breadline with EE but running as I understand on a BT land-line. I recently wanted to upgrade the standard EE router to an Asus model to see if we could improve the Internet speed.

After getting the router access details from EE, setting it up as suggested, etc., a message from BTWholesale Service Information comes up when trying to connect to any page on any browser. It appears to be an authentication issue but I seem unable to find a solution to.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Neus

Have you entered the VLAN ID? VLAN ID 101.

Have you followed Home Broadband settings in getting your BB Username & pwd to set up your own router?

Which ASUS model have you bought?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, we followed the instructions found in EE's page about setting up a different router to the one originally provided.

Link: https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/broadband-and-landline/home-broadband/how-do-i-use-my-own-router-for-...

And the model is:

ASUS DSL-AC68U AC1900 Dual-Band Wireless VDSL/ADSL 2+ Gigabit Model Router (USB 3.0 for Media Server for Phone Line Connections - BT Infinity, YouView, TalkTalk, EE and Plusnet Fibre).

Thank you,

Thank you for your reply,

We followed the instructions on EE's page to setup your own router, and since that bit isn't there, we didn't check, so I will make sure to check it this weekend.

Thanks!
