I took out a new SIM benefit which included a smart Benefit, being Apple Music. I've now read threads going back to 2015 of people having problems with this smart benefit not working and wonder how 2 huge companies such as EE and Apple, still can't fathom out the cause when it doesn't work.
After 5 hours of phone calls and constantly being pinged from EE to Apple and vice versa, no one could work out why it wouldn't work.
But, in the hope it saves some other person the rigmarol of trying to get the Smart Benefit Apple Music to work, I have figured out that if you have more than one phone on your EE account and the phone that will get the smart benefit Apple music is not the account holders phone and Apple ID, then it won't work.
If you get a message saying the subscription is already being used by another Apple ID, and you know it isn't, it's because Apple have assigned the subscription to the account holders Apple ID.
On EE you can have more than one phone on your account, but on Apple you can only have one Apple ID on your account. My get around has been that i've had to swap Apple ID's on the phone's, not ideal but at least its working now at last.

@Jessj The subscription is for the number that activates the offer. You then link that with your own Apple ID. I’ve got 2 numbers on my account it was once 3 and I’ve not had any issues activating Apple Music for the number that’s entitled to the offer. They’ve all had the offer at one point but each user had there own Apple ID.

Thanks Chris_B that’s interesting to know. Maybe they set mine up wrong because it definitely wouldn’t work on the phone it was for. I spent 5 hours over 3 days on the phone to both EE and Apple and as helpful as some of the people were that I spoke to, no one could fix it.
