EE SIM card in unlocked phone

I have a basic Alcatel phone on an EE monthly contract, which ended recently. I would like to get a slightly better basic phone for my daughter, but don't want to upgrade to a smartphone for her just yet. If I bought a SIM free unlocked phone (e.g. a Nokia), would I be able to use my existing EE SIM (from the Alcatel phone) in it and would the new phone have the same mobile number as the Alcatel phone? Thanks

Yes, you may put any SIM in any device of your choosing.

Yes, but not at the same time. You are simply moving your plan from 1 phone to another.

These contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling month's notice basis until you explicitly cancel or upgrade.
