I am trying to control the amount of data that members of my family can use (currently one person is using 80%). I tried the FAQ section and it seems to say how that can be achieved but when I follow the instructions I find that the interface does not offer the option it says to use.
Any clues?

There are two problems here. The suggestion that you have made does not explain why, assuming that I can only share 100Gb of my unlimited allowance, the system is reporting that I have 69Gb of just 76Gb!
Second problem is that I have tried to chat with EE but apparently just answering security questions isn’t enough and I must speak with them. I have explained that I am on a ventilator and therefore speaking on the phone is virtually impossible for me. Even with that explanation they are adamant that I have to do it!

You're right, it doesn't explain it, unless you've changed your plan recently and it's a pro rata allowance, @ChrisGrey53.
I'm sorry to hear that you're not able to call because of your breathing apparatus. Is there anyone else who can call on your behalf?
It sounds like this needs to be looked into further, if the chat team aren't able to explain it.

On UL Data plans there is no Data Cap only a Fair Use Policy. You get at the begining of your own monthly Start Date 100gb to share on your family members, if you don't share anything on your Start Date, your own Data use starts to eat into the 100gb share allowance, so let's say you use 40gb Yourself then you only have 60gb left you can share and so on, you still have UL Data to use yourself but just not all of your 100GB left to share.
So, best thing to is to start sharing your Data allowance at the start of your monthly refresh Data or at least Park some or all of it on another Member who is not UL and then share from that one.

That is surprising information and I was not made aware of the way it works when I renewed. I now seem to be on a worse tariff than before because now I am expected to become the person who shares data religiously on the 2nd of every month. Is EE going to pay me a wage now?

Hi, yeah sorry if I came across that way. I kind of understood that you were not working for EE but I think my frustration with them leaked through. I do appreciate the fact that you tried to help.
