Connect phone to projector

I have a Samsung galaxy s20 and am trying to connect it to a projector using HDMI cable but it is not working. Any suggestions please?

What? The phone's USB to the projector's HDMI? That won't work. The USB presents the phone as a flash drive, not a video stream.

You need a USB-C to HDMI adapter or hub. 

 

I use one of these as it works with Dex which is great.

Are you choosing the hdmi channel on your projector? Try a different hdmi cable.
