Chromecast not connecting to my 4g Wi-fi mini

Steveham

Hi,

trying to install a google chromecast and it can’t connect to my 4g Wi-fi mini.  Is the 4g Wi-fi mini running on 2.4ghz?

Hi @Steveham

Welcome to the community.

Have you tried connecting to both bands?

Chris

There's been issues with Apple products and the wifi mini and to resolve it you have to log into the router and under wifi settings change it to

security - WPA2 PSK

Cipher Type - AES.

Could it be a similar issue?

I’m limited in my tech knowledge but assume I could try this if I plug the 4g Wi-fi mini in to a computer?????  Do you know if it’s a simple process?

Hi @Steveham

I haven't got one, but if you are connected to it from your PC via wifi, you go to http://192.168.1.1 with username and password of admin / admin or the password under the battery cover, you go to wifi settings tab and you should see the two options to change. If that doesn't work, let us know and I'm sure someone will have more useful advice.

The 4GEE WiFi Mini does both 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi but not at the same time. If you login to it as @chistery suggests on the WiFi Settings page you'll be able to switch between them.
