Hi @Waynem

Thanks for coming to the community.

Are you connected to the WiFi device when you visit add-on.ee.co.uk?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

What does http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from a device connected to it by WiFi offer you?

Going there from a mobile phone with its WiFi turned off will only be trying to buy data for the mobile phone, not the mobile router.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I have a similar problem, although I can't connect to the EE WiFi router because I purchased it for someone that lives 30+ miles away.

The account has credit, which I have purchased, but there must be a way to buy a data add on without having to drive there and connect to the router?

Hi @chr156r33n,

Welcome to the community 🙂

If the device has credit on, you can ask the person who has the router to follow the instructions given by @XRaySpeX above.

Alex 🙂

I would, but this is for my 86 year old Nan who is using a Facebook Portal.
Is there no other method for doing this? It seems frustratingly limited.

Hi @chr156r33n,

To do this yourself you would need to be with or connected to the device you want to add data to.

Alex 🙂

Can someone help me understand why I can top-up someone's credit from anywhere but I have to be within WIFI range to change that top-up into data for a product that does not function without data? This effectively makes the product useless for this purpose and means that the credit already purchased is a non-refundable waste of money.

Surely this is a mistake?
