Hi. My son has a sky mobile and can’t get data at our house. Our sky internet has been playing up ( external problem) am I able to use my unlimited data phone package with EE  on a 4g dongle so that he can still play his Xbox or watch you tube on his tv

Yes you can. There is a 600GB Data Fair use Policy per month (it's not capped) and a maximum 11 Device Internet Connections at any one time fair use policy when connected through the SIM.

Brilliant. Next question. What dongle do I get? Do EE sell one. I only see a WiFi router . Is that the same thing ? ( sorry, but if a technophobe on things like this)

4G Dongles are generally termed as USB Dongles that plug into Laptops etc, all a bit old tech theses days.

Portable MiFi Device is more common these days for travel use or a 4/5G Router for Home use, both will do the Job.

EE do sell them, not sure if you can buy them outright without contract, or possible go down the 30 Day Route.

If buying from a Third Party make sure it's Network Unlocked.

Great. If I get a third party unlocked one will I need to get a duplicate sim from EE. If so is there a charge for this?

What do you mean by a duplicate SIM? You can't have more than 1 SIM with the same no. You could move your phone SIM from your phone to the mobile router as & when you need it or you could get a separate SIM for it.
