Okay so within a week I will receive the phone as I’ve paid for something I can’t even use

That is the most recent timescales for the iPhone 11 64GB Green.

You will not begin to pay for your new contract until your phone is on it's way. 

If you upgraded, you will remain on the same plan until your new contract is ready to begin. 

If your new plan has started and you have not received your phone, I would recommend giving 150 a call.
