I gave up on my SS order with EE and bought it via AO who delivered within 18 hours of placing the order with very good 0% finance deals if that is a factor.
when I called EE on Monday initially they tried to tell me they could deliver Tuesday however when I pressed on that point and he looked he then said it would be at least another 7 days if not longer.

I was told they were expecting stock next Wednesday but to be honest I've little to no faith in timescales given by the help desks as so many people have been given false timescales in the past just to get them off the line.

The lack of communication really is bizarre and unacceptable.

I wouldn't believe anything an EE adviser tells you.

Been 3 weeks since I ordered, and was told I would receive on launch the next day (18th)

I'm sure a mod/ 'grand master' will pop along and reiterate why its my fault, and that EE are despatching on 1st come 1st served basis , while ignoring the fact EE haven't despatched any SS models as they haven't received any . Good job that when I ordered it was showing as in stock as this apparently means nothing to EE.

Again apparently that's my fault also!

As expected, see an update on my order that just says order on track. It’s clear that the system just generates a meaningless update every 7 days.

I actually cancelled my order

today and went for a red aluminium one instead.

I had fallen in love with the red after seeing it in an Apple store last week and after reading the reports on the Apple support forums of people saying how easily the graphite colouring was to scratch, even with the DLC, then paying the extra for the stainless didn’t seem worth it.

At least me cancelling might have bumped someone up the queue a little.

i would love to cancel my order now and just get another model; only thing is that i have bought a couple of very expensive watch straps that will only look good on this SS model. I am really growing tired of the fact there are no 'real' updates on the situation. could someone....ANYONE please......... give us a clue.

@adthepad , if you want to cancel your order, in order to get a different model or you can either return the straps you have bought and get a refund on them or buy the watch from Apple if they have it in stock. You do not have to pay it all in one go as they do offer a payment plan, or just sit and wait until EE have it in stock.

I presume you have rung EE to find out when they think you will get it, as that is the best way to find out if at all it is in stock , as I know this is just a repeat, but is down to when EE receive the supply for it.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

@shockwave Im going to call customer service again and see what they say. If i get told they will be in stock soon, I’ll probably give it another week. If nothing happens after that week, i’ll have a think on what i’m going to do. I have the series 5 watch anyway and the only real reason i want the series 6, is because i really do want the stainless steel model.

So... the chap at customer services told me that EE have (still) not had a single stainless steel series 6 delivered to them. He offered me a non SS service 6, but thats not what i want. So i told him “I’ll give it a week, two tops. Then I’ll call back to see what my options are”
He even told me the order updates were, and i quote “POOR” and “only sent to keep us interested in buying the watch”.
Buying from Apple is not an option to me, so i guess it’s a wait and see game now. But the fact EE are still advertising the SS model is crazy. Right now, there are 3 weeks of back orders for this model and its only going to get longer.

@adthepad just had a quick check of some well known websites and apples own delivery dates as they’re almost spot on in my experience. SS Apple Watch isn’t even available to buy immediately on apple website - delivery is estimated for 44mm (I looked at that) for mid November if you order now on most sites. I honestly wouldn’t get your hopes up for anything before 20th-25th Oct at this rate. Seems fair to assume Covid and pre orders have really ****ed you on this purchase. Glad I decided to get the blue aluminium now, instead of SS. got it on launch day. I’d expect more of the same with the impending iPhone range. 😢😢😢

@Gomrathb I preordered mine on the morning of the 18th and have also watched the Apple delivery dates just go up and up on their app. I really am now considering just cancelling my ee order all together and just keeping hold of my series 5. Ive never known anything like what is going on now. Surely, Covid cannot be blamed for the stock levels. By now, Apple will have known just how many units they will need come launch day of any of their products. They will also know (by now)  how many units could be manufactured by launch day. They have had 8+ months to have known this and put a very conservative figure on how many units they could appoint to various sellers (including ee). All of this is down to Apple and their greed. But now.... i think ee need to take stock of the situation and stop advertising the ss model. Or at the least, give people who want to order it now a realistic delivery date. If someone orders one today, they are nearly a month behind me on the waiting list. And its only getting longer. And now... even if i wanted another 44mm model, i would have to join yet another waiting list for that model. Hence why im about at my wits end with this. I always go for the newest Apple product as soon as it drops. It doesn’t look like i will be this time.
