I just went through the motions of ordering the stainless steel model from the Apple store. Their delivery date is 26 October - 2 November.

So who knows when ee will get stock?!?!

I’ve always wanted the SS model, so i guess I’m/were in for the long run.

I’ve just tried to order on apple store. It is showing 10th of october for home delivery with today pick up in store option(Brent Cross)

I have noticed the same and in particular that the delivery dates have been shifting further out each day on the Apple site. I think it'd be fair to say that Apple have a more advanced system than EE, in that they deduct quantities on pre-order from expected shipment, which would explain why the lead time has been steadily increasing on their website this week.

EE keep passing the delays onto Apple, which to some degree is warranted. However, I struggle to believe they have no idea how many units they are expecting and how many pre-orders they have outstanding. Thereby at least setting a reasonable expectation with customers over when delivery is likely to take place. Incidentally, O2 are showing the SS on a 6 week+ lead time.

I also received a text update this morning confirming that "My Order was on track", confirming what I saw when I checked the update link last night. Having spoken to customer service, I have confirmed that this message doesn't actually mean much!

I think it's fair to say all that have ordered will eventually receive their order, whenever that may be. I hope EE firstly take some initiative to pro-actively address the poor communication, presumably some will have paid an upgrade fee which by the time they receive the item would have either been much less or zero. I'm more frustrated by the poor communication than the fact I haven't received my order.

I managed to order a stainless steel model for delivery next Tuesday from Very yesterday. They had initial stock of Stainless Steel and then this must be the next delivery as they were showing as Out of Stock until yesterday.

So Very who you probably wouldn't consider to be a retailer that would get allocated much stock has managed to restock twice. Whist it seems EE who is mean to be one of Apple's partners (considering they are the only network with Family Setup on the watch) doesn't seem to have received any stock for that model (or at least we have no stories of anyone receiving delivery of that model no matter how early they ordered).

I hope EE do address the upgrade fee as I paid an upgrade fee of £80 and I wouldn’t have done that if I’m not going to get the watch until November.

I don't believe that the allocation is purely in the hands of Apple. All the retailers essentially provide some commitment to take stock and in what quantities. In reality we will never know the inner workings of these arrangements.

I do very much hope they do, though I think the likelihood is they won't volunteer it without being asked.

I managed to get mine waived as I was in the last 100 days of my watch contract and EE have an upgrade policy that if the new tariff is more than old and there is less than 100 days left on the contract they will waive the upgrade fee. As I went for the SS it was indeed more than the tariff for my S4 aluminium device. As an aside, I've since noticed the new Watch tariffs don't qualify for the 10% must-line discount I got with my S4 tariff.

The managers I have spoken to on the CS team have been very sympathetic. So if an automatic refund isn't forthcoming, I would like to think a rationale conversation with a complaints manager would get this done.

Well Very are showing a VERY good price of £509 whereas EE are charging £696 so i think i will now cancel my EE order since its screwed anyway

So, I can confirm, I have ordered a series 6 in stainless steel 44mm at a price of £509 - which is oddly low, but theyve taken my money and confirmed the order so lets see what happens.

Called EE, and they found 2 watch orders on my account, and I only placed one, so no idea what is going on with their systems, and as to pricing..   Very have it sorted 🙂

Thats a VERY good price, seeing as Apple want £699 for the same thing. Im tempted to buy one just to make a quick £100 on a resale.
