Hi,
I am thinking of getting an Apple Watch SE model and am considering the cellular option. I would buy it directly from apple rather than EE.
can I simply add the watch to my existing EE plan at no extra cost and use the 30gb of data I already have on my mobile plan? Or is there an additional monthly charge?

The cellular version would need its own data plan so it can connect to the network when away from your phone. The plan is currently £7 per month.

Can I ask what the justification is for charging an additional fee for adding an Apple Watch with cellular capability, when most people have existing data plans that have more than enough data to cover both the watch and the phone’s usage? Why can’t they both be connected to the same existing data plan if the watch is connected to the same phone number and therefore account?

The cellular watch has its own eSIM that needs to be provisioned and connected to the network so it can operate independently of the phone. If you use a non-cellular model that can't be used independently, it would use the phones data plan.

Thank you. Hopefully it will get to a point where an additional plan is no longer needed.
I understand it is a rolling 30 day contract for the Apple Watch plan. How easy is it stop and start the plan and how would I do that?

Thanks. So if I unpair my watch will EE automatically detect I’ve removed the data plan and I just pay a pro-rated amount up to that date?

This will remove the pairing for you, to remove the £7.00 plan if this still shows active within your My EE app then add-ons and has no end date, our Mobile Care team on 150 will be happy to help you get this removed.
