Apple Watch Cellular Subscription

Hi all,

I recently purchased the Apple Watch Series 6 GPS + Cellular through Currys. All paid for up front.

I have tried to add this to my EE plan and it states I will be charged £7 a month. Why can’t I just attach it to my existing plan?

If I was to return the watch and purchase a monthly Watch plan with EE, would I have to pay any additional costs once that monthly plan is finished?

Hi there @Rhiannon8

Thanks for posting on the community.

If you have purchased an Apple Watch from a third-party retailer you will need a 30-day smartwatch plan to use cellular, this is £7.00 per month with 10GB of data, you can pair the Apple Watch to your iPhone to use the same number.

If you purchase the Apple Watch from EE, you would need the £7.00 smartwatch plan once the contract has ended, our Mobile Care team would be able to change this for you at the end of the contract.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

Why am I unable to utilise my existing data mobile plan?

I have enough data / texts / minutes to use my watch under my current plan.

Thank you,
Rhiannon

Hi @Rhiannon8

I am sorry, you would need the smartwatch plan to use cellular on the watch.

If you do not want to add this, you can use Bluetooth.

Leanne.
