Advantages for data sim over phone sim?

I have a Netgear 4G LTE modem, using a sim card for when wired broadband is unavailable.
Presumably either a phone or data sim would work, but the phone ones offer much greater data allowances for a similar price. Are there any advantages of using a data sim, or would it be better to get a phone sim?

None! As you say you can get greater data allowances with phone SIMs, even unlimited (really 1000GB).

Thanks - that's how I'd read it. It just seemed a bit strange, so I'd wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything! I'll be ordering a phone sim now!

@chistery : Where's it say that? Not in Unlimited Plans ? Or are you talking about limited data plans?

We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan.
Your FUP will now depend on which T&Cs you signed up to. The EE web site is now full of conflicting information about things like FUPs and RPI changes.

Thanks for highlighting that @chistery. I decided to go for 200GB/month plan. The extra £3 to double the data "just in case" seemed worth it, but an extra £15 for data that I was unlikely to use didn't. But worth being aware that "unlimited" is becoming more "limited"!
