I’ve upgraded my contract to a have 5G Sim. Will I receive a 5G Sim or will I have to keep my old one? If my sim isn’t 5G ready then surely I would have to receive the new sim as on my email it said I won’t need a new sim which I don’t understand if I’ve upgraded to a 5G Sim? Could somebody tell me why I wouldn’t need a new sim as I don’t quite understand

There’s no such thing as a 4G SIM card, full stop. It's the SIM Plan that is 5G or 4G at the mo'. That will disappear eventually as it did for 3G > 4G.

EE SIMs are 5G capable. You won't need a new 1. It's your plan that has been updated to 5G.

That’s why I don’t understand, surely if I’m getting a 5G phone would I
need a 5G sim? They advertise the SIM cards as 5G and they have other SIM
cards that aren’t 5G compatible so surely the one I have now isn’t 5G
compatible? Which means I would need the new 5G Sim

Thanks for the help. I just didn’t understand it all. So it’s just the name that has changed not the actual sim. It’s just the sim is compatible with 5G. Which means I won’t need a new sim. Thanks for you help I understand it now
