4G lag issues with gaming?

Hi guys, i've recently purchased a 4G sim and my primary use of internet is gaming on xbox one.

 

I keep getting horrendous lag spikes in every game, and then it'll run smooth for a few minutes. When it runs, it's amazing. I was used to 90+ ping constantly because of the area we live in. 

 

Like i said, when it works.. it works. But these spikes make it impossible to enjoy a full game without any issues.

 

For everything else it's a huge improvement.. download speed etc. 

 

What can anyone recommend? Shall i switch provider? How do i know who's the best provider for a consistent 4G line?

4G tends to have higher latency at times which could be a cause of lag spikes. How are you connecting to the EE 4G network? e.g. Tethering, 4GEE Home Router?

 

Is your Xbox One connection wired or wireless?
