I have an iPhone 13 never any issues I done the most recent update and since then my phone is constantly searching for signal so I can’t make calls etc. Apple diagnostics says a hardware error but then randomly signal will come back for a short period.

I have checked signal in my area no issues

turned off and on

reset network settings

taken out sim and reinserted it

any other ideas ?

@Browny3129  can you try your SIM in a different phone or even a different SIM in your phone?

Hi

pay monthly and yes the phone was from EE but a long time ago

Hi Chris

i just tried my daughters sim and apple diagnostics said hardware issue and kept searching. However I put my sim back in and I have signal again but this only usually lasts for an hour max.

@Browny3129  If Apple diagnostics say it’s a hardware issue there is nothing you can do you need to book an appointment with Apple to get this looked at or if you have insurance make a claim on that insurance.

What was the result of the 2way SIM-swap?

Your non-working SIM in a working phone - what result?

A working SIM in your non-working phone - what result?

This test should confirm whether your phone is at fault.

Hi

the sim worked fine in another phone but didn’t when the other sim put in this phone.

so guessing it’s a phone issue. Have booked to take it to Apple but it’s only happened since I done the last update which is weird.

@Browny3129  One thing you can try is a clean install of iOS.   Back up the device to save your information.   You’ll now need a PC with iTunes installed.

  1. Connect your iPhone to the PC with the Lightning cable that came with the device.
  2. Press and then release the Volume Upbutton.
  3. Immediately press and release the Volume Down button.
  4. Now, press and hold the Side buttonfor 10 seconds.
    The screen will go black.
  5. Keep holding the Side button, and now press the Volume Down button for 5 seconds.
  6. After 5 seconds, release the Side button but keep holding the Volume Down button.
  7. Continue pressing the Volume Down button for another 10 seconds.
All this while your iPhone’s screen is black.
  8. Let go of the Volume Down button after you see a popup in iTunes that says, ‘Your PC has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used.’
  9. Now, click OK in the pop-up and click Restore iPhone.

This will install a fresh clean install of iOS.  It’ll take a few minutes as it will download from Apples servers and then install that on the device ( do not unplug the device until it’s back to factory settings  ie how you got it out of the box ).   Set this device up but do not reinstall your backup (yet). You’ll need to test the device to see if it resolves this issue.  If it does you have a choice set everything up from scratch or install your backup but installing the backup could put this issue back on the device then you’ll need to start over again and setup the device from scratch.     Then you need to delete that backup so you never use it again.
