I think Vodafone and O2 customers are struggling too. I saw some posts on Reddit that their delivery times have changed for 3-4 weeks too.

You’re lucky 😂 I ordered mine on a sim free deal, fed up of paying extra for the phone and contract. My delivery date was 28days and has been counting down ever since… currently 23days 😂 hopefully get it for Xmas!

Hi @mattworcester

Try searching the forums for the last 10 iPhones, same threads same moans, this is an Apple issue.

Thanks

Hiya, I don't think you are understanding my situation, the issue is with EE for 'TELLING" me that the phone would be here yesterday. If it was an honest conversation that it could be 28 days, or I cant confirm that would be fine!

The dates on the website are absolutely for people ordering now. The problem is that EE customer services are also saying this for preorders who placed their orders on the 12th.

iPhone launch stock usually arrives in one burst. EE would have told Apple pre 12/09 how much stock they wanted and Apple would have confirmed how much they could send. EE would then sell back orders until that assumed stock is consumed.

The problem is that Apple rarely send what they promised and the variance between promise and reality varies wildly based on model, colour and memory variants so EE would have fulfilled the back orders on a first come first serve basis and then anyone left over would have to wait for normal stock to start flowing which in this case is 14-28 days later.

the safest assumption is that whatever it says on the website is what we’ll get because if you haven’t been notified that your phone is on the way by DPD by now, they most likely have run out of pre-order stock and you’re condemned to wait until normal stock starts flowing unless Apple has reserve stock they are freeing up

Hi @mattworcester

At the time you ordered it would be expected but if 100 orders are made then Apple says you can only have 50 devices then some people will lose out. It is not the agents fault.

As I say this happens every year.

Thanks

EE should payment then learn not to promise what they cannot deliver , then these 'moans' would be very reduced 🙂

I got a sim free phone too. No contract, delivery date said the 19th, then it changed to sorry it’s been delayed with no date! Contemplating whether to cancel or not

I think the problem here is not Apple , but EE vastly over promising based on what they’re allotted. I’d have been much better to order from Apple, with a real delivery date next week that’s not just made up.

I completely understand what you’re saying. I ordered the iPhone 17 pro max on the 12th and paid for delivery for today, Saturday as it’s my weekend off and I knew I’d be at home! I was told weekend delivery would be a little more expensive but I didn’t mind, I was assured I’d have it by today, but no nothing and no one seems to have any idea when I will be getting it! Also, I did the trade in deal when I upgraded and yesterday I got a text to say my current device needs to be returned to the trade in team by the 4th October or I’ll get charged…not good at all!
