Hello Again.
After last years MONUMENTAL thread became the second most popular thread on the entire website, (Over 400k views & 6k replies) I thought I'd make another for this years iPhone release.
Just like last year let's use this thread purely for Tracking Preorders and any related discussion around it.
You can find a general discussion thread here: https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Orders/Iphone-16-pro-16-pro-max-pre-order-thread-that-time-of-the-year...
Last year was a mess for EE, Let's hope things are different this year.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Tracking has now updated to :
Expected delivery date:04 Oct 2024 - 08 Oct 2024
Absolute shambles! Why offer a pre-order if you can't fulfil them.. You don't pre-order an unreleased game to be told you cant play it until nearly a month after it comes out do you. Meanwhile people who are buying the phone after release are getting it the same day. The pre-order holds no weight at all, not a single piece of exclusivity. I won't be pre-ordering a device with EE ever again. I'm likely going to cancel the order and just go get it in store today.

Wish i ordered straight through Apple now, my friend pre ordered same day as me 13th and got theirs today and still nothing updated for mine through EE, absolute joke.

Scrap that, none of my local stores have stock. Sounds like this lot couldn't organize one of those things you hold in a brewery 🤣

absolutely agree. same situation here . I don't even know how to express my anger. ee support keeps telling me that the problem is with apple and that they don't have enough devices. such an absurdity

At least most of you have an estimated date I ordered on 14th as couldn’t get on the 13th due to the amount of people trying and not heard a word and my online tracking has no date anywhere

Try calling them to confirm if your order has been received. I ordered on the 13th not even 10mins past 1pm, received an xko order number around 1:55pm only to find out on the 15th that it wasn’t processed and wasn’t showing up on their systems and had to reorder. My tracker on the website has updated to 04 October - 08 October. So I guess yours should also have been updated already given that you’ve ordered on the 14th. Try giving them a ring.

Mine was ordered on 13th but my track link hasn't updated as yet (still says order cannot be tracked) so not expecting mine anytime soon!!!!!

Poor example comparing handsets to video games. If only mobile devices could be distributed digitally instead of physically

Wouldn't mind so much if their communication was better - my upgrade pre-order for 16 Pro Max 256GB doesnt have any kind of date in the order tracker but the graphic in there is showing it at the 'Order Dispatched' stage and has been for 3 days but I dont belive it.

I get your point, but the point I was trying to make is once they knew they had surpassed device stock count vs pre-orders they should have stopped taking pre-orders as its now completely voided any exclusivity and reputation in the pre-order service. EE knew how many of each handset they would receive from Apple and they can see how many current pre-orders are on the system. So at no point should they have been telling customers that they would receive it on release day if they knew they were already over subscribed. It's false advertising to gain more business on the provision that customers will just roll over and say "oh well they done me, not much I can do now though."
It's just disappointing all round. Worse so for those that pre-ordered on the 13th seeing as its first come first served basis. Completely absurd they ran out of handsets before the end of day 1.
