I've done this a few times and thought it would be bad to break tradition, so wanted to create a thread for people to discuss their preorders etc as we all wait for our new iPhones.

After ordering on Monday (being assured over the phone order that my delivery would be launch day) - I’ve had nothing confirmed further but the initial text.
still had no DPD notification, tracking number or EE text, but the online live chat have just said I now have a different order number which is confirmed as ‘despatch in the next 24 hours’.
unsure if anyone else has had 2 different order numbers - one from the pre order and one from the confirmed processed order??? doubt i will get my phone tomorrow but Saturday would be nice.

Hi,
in the my ee app - the section under help & then ‘message’ started a live chat for me.
not sure how reliable these people are. I do hear a lot of negatives, but from stressing all day with no confirmations, to hear someone can see my order says it’ should be despatched within 24 hours - I will take anything like that as positive.

I never thought about having a different number but come to think of it, live chat said the same to me about dispatch in the next 24 hours but the online tracker says otherwise…I’m gonna ask again before they shut.

I did doubt it at first too but this was his reasoning when I said I have a different order number to the one your saying -
*It may be a confirmation number for your order because it was pre-order. However, I did twice check for the order number and it is xxxxxxxxx*
he then re-confirmed all of the details to this order and they were exactly correct under my account - this new one shows despatch in 24hours.
I do urge anyone to double check if you speak to chat that your numbers are correct and nothing new is showing.

You’re a legend, thanks for telling me this. Waiting for online chat now. It’s making sense now why the tracker wasn’t moving but yet they said it’ll be dispatched tomorrow.

No problem mate like I said, not 100% on any of this but will take some positive news if I hear it. Hopefully it helps you get an update too.
my original number from Monday still hasn’t changed one bit. The next step the chat guy said for me is just awaiting EE text and DPD text with delivery date which should be within 24 hours!

I was given a different 02 number when on live chat but it doesn’t let me track it or the DXO one. The only one I can track is the original 02 number in email

Hi mate, I agree - even my new order number doesn’t let me even track anything - it errors on the ee tracker but the live chat guy said that there are lots of processes going on and it doesn’t always show properly - best way to check next steps would be await the ee text and DPD text.
the new order number was definitely under my account and was for the exact same plan and phone type - he said he double checked it was right so I’m confident something is happening. Stay hopeful for yours too mate!
