Upgraded apple watch but can’t set up mobile data?

I had a previous apple watch plan paired to my iphone, but i upgraded it to Series 8 with unlimited data. Received it yesterday however when i try to set up mobile data  on my iphone it says it’s not compatible with my plan and need to set it up as a family member. I see lots of other posts about this but no easy solution. Can someone help?

I'd recommend getting in touch with our tech team so they can check you're on the correct plan.

They'll be able to help you get this working.

This happened to me a few months ago. 

The lovely lady in CS managed to switch me to a pair plan quite easily in the end!
