I have upgraded my 14 pro max to a 16 pro max. I'm already with EE and I've put the sim card in my 16 pro max. It's still going through the transfer process in regards to apps etc. My old phone still shows the mobile signal on it rather than on the new phone. When I get someone to ring me the call rings on my old phone then a few seconds later the new phone rings. Currently there is no signal bars on the new phone. How long will the number take to fully transfer.
A quick note, I did get an error when it asked to transfer the number but the sim was already in the new phone. Can you tell me if I've done something wrong and I need to start the set up again. TIA

Moving your SIM from your old phone to your new phone, is moving your number.
It's the SIM which holds your number, not the phone.

I've been through to EE 2nd line support, they say I've been an an esim for the last 2 years and the physical sim I had in my phone was not being used. I didn't know this until today. Anyway, they cannot sort it over the phone so I've got to nip into a EE store tomorrow for them to sort it. Thanks for your response though

Replied below but it's all down to the esim not activating the number/service on the new phone. Thanks for your response

@davehouto
Do you have an eSIM, and a physical SIM in old phone, as well as a new physical SIM in new phone?
It's best to remove the old physical SIM from previous phone, if it's not active, as this stops any device confusion when activating new SIM or transfers.
Once you have done this, as long as the eSIM is still active and providing signal, you should be able to use this to activate the new physical SIM in the new phone through the Activate SIM link above. This could save you a trip into the EE store.
