@Dave459  If you don’t know the passcode to unlock the device and Face ID or Touch ID doesn’t unlock the device, then you’ll have to factory reset the device.  If you don’t have a backup of your device all information on it will be lost.  If you back up anything via iCloud it’ll be reinstalled.

You’ll also need to know your Apple account ID to reset up the device.  That’s your email address you use for Apple and your Apple ID password as the device is locked to an Apple account.
