Email not working when on mobile network

I am on an iPhone 12 Pro Max using iOS 15.6.

My email settings have worked fine, allowing me to send and receive email using the Apple Mail app.  A few months ago, things changed.  Email still works fine when I am on WiFi but is significantly delayed, or not working at all, when on the EE mobile network.  This appears to be an issue when on 3G, 4G and 5G.

I have checked my email settings with my provider (Fasthosts) and they are correct.

The iPhone settings are correct (for using mobile data for email etc).

If I refresh the mail app screen to force a download, the 'checking for mail' message shows for some minutes, then it fails to connect with the server.

I also have an Apple iCloud email account.  That works on WifI and the mobile network.  I can also access my  email using webmail.

Any suggestions greatfully received.

I have the same problem with EE not retrieving email.

If I hide behind a VPN it connects,

anyone found a solution?

No solution that I'm aware of. I've provided endless screenshots etc on messaging behind the scenes but the problem still exists and exists for all my family on EE with FastHosts email.

It's becoming increasingly unworkable....

C'mon EE. Surely you can fix this???

I also have the same problem. It’s very annoying and has caused me to miss several very important emails. EE you need to sort this asap!

I have the same problem on my phone! Was working fine but now getting no emails at all unless I use my iPad’s hotspot which is with O2. I get them on every other device! I am getting them when I am on WiFi! Anyone had any resolution to this issue??

No further updates or fixes that I'm aware of and it all seems to have gone quiet from the EE Support end.

@Leanne_T do you have any updates you can provide please? If it looks like EE can't fix the problem then I'll have to change provider, as will my whole family as we all use Fasthosts for our email handling.

Hi @Adunc23 @ScottJC

To get this investigated and looked into, please call us on 150.

Our tech gurus can run through some troubleshooting and raise a support ticket for this happening if needed.

Leanne.

I’m coming to the same conclusion.

One thing I have noticed is that the problem is not consistent. It even feels sometimes like a simple time out to respond error, because on a long journey, I find I actually do get my Fasthosts emails but not consistently.
Anyone else noticed that at all?

Same for me

Yep - exactly my experience. I've tried timing it but it's definitely not consistent. Only thing I would say is that there's normally a delay of hours between the times I get connected rather than minutes,

Hi @Leanne_T and thanks for the rapid response. I'm conscious that over a number of weeks I was supplying screen shots, timings of events etc to you and the team as requested so I was assuming there was some kind of support ticket already open and under investigation. Are you now saying that the investigation has stopped?
