Damaged phone

Hi. Took my sons iPhone 12 to EE yesterday as the cameras and Face ID have stopped working. It’s been sent off for repair and has just been updated to say that replacement phone has been requested. I assume this means that it’s beyond economical repair and so they are sending another one out to us. Do you know how long this is likely to take because it’s my sons phone and he’s going to play football in Spain with school in 3 days time and so needs a phone to take with him. Thanks

Who contacted you to say that a replacement has been requested?

Was it the store?

I went on my tracker and it says The device needs to be exchanged and replacement requested.

I'd recommend getting in touch with the store so they can work with the repair centre and try to give you an estimated timescale for this.

Thankyou. The store said they have nothing To do with the phone until a new one is received in store from the repair centre!! I will leave it until tomorrow afternoon and chase again.
