I suspect there's a setting somewhere in your phone that says to the effect of "which connections can I use for xyz function" and this is set to mobile-data-only. Usually it would be set the other way round, and users would complaint of an inability to perform certain functions when away from WiFi.

When you say "WiFi-calling appears to work", what makes you say that? Bearing in mind that WiFi-calling is intended to only kick-in when mobile coverage is insufficient or zero, are you saying that you can make voice calls when on WiFi? The acid test would be can you call or text when coverage is zero.

Hi @RedKev

You may have Sony Smart Connectivity switched on. This automatically uses more data connection to give you a better internet experience.
