EE swapped plan over to standalone watch but now i try to pair it and add plan it says i cannot add plan as i need to set up watch as a family plan. This not what i believed would be the outcome and assume this is a tech error as i am paying for watch separately so would like to use my current apple ID

Yes, our Customer Care Team will be able to help you switch to a personal plan if your get in touch on 150.
