EE swapped plan over to standalone watch but now i try to pair it and add plan it says i cannot add plan as i need to set up watch as a family plan. This not what i believed would be the outcome and assume this is a tech error as i am paying for watch separately so would like to use my current apple ID

Hopefully someone can help

Hi @AaronJay1

Thanks for coming here.

Are you trying to to add the £7 data plan?

Where and when did you purchase the watch?

Leanne 🙂

No

I had a shared plan and swapped it for stand-alone which may have been a mistake

How we I am now trying to add data plan and it’s saying the watch cannot be set up for myself and has to be a family plan

Problem is I need to use my Apple ID and this cannot be done

EE say they can’t fever it back to shares which is fine as it my fault but surely I should be able to use my current Apple ID as it’s technically a different number?

Hi @AaronJay1

Did you want the watch to have it's own number for the standalone plan?

What happens when you add your Apple ID?

Leanne.

The watch has its own number so that’s not issue.

Once I try to add on my phone the error says I need to set up as family plan

I am paying £34 for stand-alone but only activated today so maybe I have to wait a day or so. I can still use watch as gps only at the minute

Overall just unsure why Apple ID can’t be added when number different

I would suggest getting back in touch with our Tech Gurus on 150 @AaronJay1

They can help you get this set up.

Leanne 🙂

@Cjr4    Do you want a family plan or a personal plan ?    A personal plan is when the watch is linked to your phone number and rings when your phone does even the phone isn’t with you.  a family plan is when you set the watch up and give it to somewhere to use and when your phone rings the watch doesn’t as it has its own phone number for calls an texts.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I want personal plan - when I try to connect the sim it tells me that it won’t work as need to choose family plan.

If I call EE will they be able to switch this over?
