I am at my wits end... a few days ago i was using the S24+, and my default messaging app was samsung messaging, and used the chat service. I had no problems at all.... now ive upgraded to the fold 7. The phone is all set up, ive also kept the same sim and number... but i cannot get my samsung message app to register for its chat service. My old phone was factory reset, so i cannot work it out.
Google messages and chat works fine, no problem at all... but samsung just wont have it.
Ive tried everything i know, any ideas ? My wife swapped from the flip 7 to my old S24+ and her samsung messages registered for the chat service in a few hrs.

Hi @DanRiley,
Welcome to the EE Community
So it verifies RCS chats fine when you have Google messages set as the default app? What does happen when you are trying to set it up in chat settings once you have Samsung messages as the default app?
I would try clearing the data and cache from the Samsung messages app in Settings>Apps>Messages>Storage if you have not already.
In case anything with the old phone is causing an issue you could use the Google form to de-register your number for chat and then try re-registering through Samsung messages.
