I have problems sending Giff's and pictures on Google messenger

I am having problems sending Giff's and pictures on Google messenger on my Pixel 7 Pro. Apparently I'm not the only one. I have tried all the suggestions on various forums, adjusting settings on my phone. Does anyone know if this is to do with my phone or could it be something to do with the network/plan? It would be great to find a Fix for the problem. As a solution I have started using What's App because I can send Giff's and pictures on that.

Hello Katie,

Yeah when I send a giff or picture on Google messenger it just keeps attempting to send constantly. After a while it then asks if I want to continue to send. But it never does. I thought it was my settings on my Pixel until I started to use Whats App and can send giffs and pictures.

I'm not the best with technology when it's working as it should.

Are you able to delete the app and redownload or is this pre-installed? 

Could you go into settings > apps > see all apps > Google Messenger and the cache for the app, does this help?

Hello Leanne,

I had considered doing that but it's one of the pre-installed ones. It's Google messenger and my phone is a Pixel. Thanks for the idea. I'll have a look later when I get chance on play store.
