Galaxy Watch 7 / Ultra (LTE)

Hi all, is anyone successfully using a Watch 7 or Ultra on LTE successfully, and able to make calls from the watch?
(or anyone else having issues?)

I have a Galaxy Watch Ultra, have activated a paired £7/Month eSim for the watch but it does not work properly.

Plan shows as active, Watch shows as connected, and when disconnected from the phone, watch data works - I can browse the internet, update apps, use WhatsApp etc. What doesn't work is Calling - neither incoming or outgoing. If I try to make an outgoing call, it attempts it, then ends the call within 2 seconds before it rings. Incoming calls aren't routed to the watch.

I've called EE, and they have re-applied the eSim and also got me to remove the plan from my watch and put a new one on - nothing has worked, and I think they are a bit stuck!

On the Samsung community there are several other people with the same issue - all on EE, and all with a Watch 7 or Ultra. One person reported dealing with EE 3rd line, and overnight it started working - the kicker being when they spoke to their handler the following day they didn't know what had fixed it!

yeah before the update mine was the same - could send texts but not make calls.

Weird how for some people its fine though, I'm glad for them just sad as I make more use of texts.

Good evening... yes I can confirm that I have been able successfully send  a text .. and the calls are working as required... I have had failed txt sends.. but is this due to poor lte reception therefore it defaults back to a bluetooth pairing with your phone to complete?

Hi, I haven't tried sending or receiving a text as I tend to use WhatsApp for messaging. Forgive me if this is something you have already checked, but have you checked that the relevant notification permissions are allowed on the watch and wearable app? Just a thought.

Yeah no joy mate

Hi are you saying the latest update from update from Samsung fixed the problem the watch was having?

I believe when.it comes to LTE Phone calls yes... there is a side effect that sms txts stop working on some watches...

Go to watch setting and update the watch ... mine works perfect now 👌🏼

As far as LTE calls are concerned, yes. SMS problems still seem to persist
though. I tried yesterday too and SMS from my watch without connection to
the phone wasn't going through.

I can confirm it is working after the Samsung update and I just got Ee to redo me e sim after reading the forum with those that are saying it's working incoming and outgoing calls good. Text sending good but receiving no notification but it works

I had this issue with my ultra 7 watch in the end after months of refunds from ee they agreed to cancel the contract and I returned the watch. Bought the same watch from Samsung and just today took out a paired watch plan with ee. Watch makes and receives calls no problem, even with the phone turned off like it's supposed to be
