Hi @smuggaz
Thanks for coming to the community.
What device are you using?
Do the alerts turn back on once you have set this to off?

Leanne, OnePlus 7 and yes if you set them off, they get set back on with the message above. It looks like the Operator or Gov are pushing a settings override to turn them back on again. Happened a few times during the testing in the UK and again if you leave the country and come home.

Thanks @smuggaz
Our What is Emergency Alert? | Help | EE has full information on the alerts.
If this setting is turning back on, I would suggest giving us a call and our technical support team will run through some troubleshooting with you.
Leanne.

Thanks, I will do that, is there any UK Gov legislation stating that they must be allowed to overrider end users settings without consent?

Hi @smuggaz
The How emergency alerts work - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) website advises the below:
You can opt out of emergency alerts, but you should keep them switched on for your own safety.
To opt out:
- Search your settings for ‘emergency alerts’.
- Turn off ‘severe alerts’ and ‘extreme alerts’.
If you still get alerts, contact your device manufacturer for help.

I opted out and then the Operator switched them back on remotely see image above.
I contacted the device manufacturer and they said contact the Operator and here we are. 😉

Thank you, I spoke to Tech Support and they changed the SIM settings on my phone to prevent this happening.
