My Pixel 8 came back from a repair last week. Prior to being sent off I had to do a factory reset.
Since getting it back, my EE voicemail is now be bypassed by some american-accented alternative voicemail (presumably a google version). It stops messages being recorded normally and instead gives me a message transcript. What's the deal???
I've spent ages online trying to find a fix, I've been through all the settings I can think of and those suggested on different searches. Is this a problem other people have found? Help!
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @Mark1217
You appear to have Google's "Take a Message" feature activated.
Google's Pixel "Take a Message" feature provides real-time call transcription for missed or declined calls, allowing you to see a caller's message as they speak, rather than waiting for a voicemail.
A transcript and audio of the message will appear in your call history.
To disable it, open the Google Phone app, tap More (the three dots) > Settings > Take a Message, and turn the feature off.

Hi @Mark1217
Welcome to the community.
I know you've mentioned that you've been through some settings. Does the voicemail number in your phone settings still show the EE Voicemail number? To check it, follow these steps:
Open the Phone app, tap the three-dots (⋮), select Settings, then Voicemail, Advanced settings, and Setup. Finally, select Voicemail number, EE voicemail number +447953222222.

Hi, I've looked through the link but, unfortunately, there isn't anything there that'll sort the problem. I'll give EE customer services a ring. Thanks for replying
