Im now getting messages too many boxes and error btp16500 and 1pc6007 on my 2 mini boxes that have been working fine, until 2 days ago. I can press resolve and make the mini box my main TV box - but surely this can’t be right.
We received the mini boxes when joining EE TV and haven’t had any issues until now. How do I fix this please?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

A software update shouldn't cause it either, but yes - go ahead and accept the message and everything should go back to normal.

It’s likely to be an account issue.
You’ll need to speak to support, or @DarrenDev may be able to help.
You have two minis, and an Apple TV or Pro box?
For that configuration you’ll definitely need a multi room subscription too - not a Now Boost, but the separate EE one. It’s usually added when an additional box is ordered, but we have seen multiple instances recently that users that haven’t been set up correctly when ordering.
Until you can resolve it, just accept that one of the boxes is your ‘main device’. It won’t impact usage (unless you’re trying to use all of them at the same time), and it’ll mean you can at least use it for the moment.
Apparently this ‘nag screen’ appears to be just that. You can still switch back and forth as needed, but it’ll nag you to get it fixed!

Did you factory reset your device @Bundiman ? If so, it'll show as a new device on the account, and so prompt with that message. Each box may see the message once, after which it'll go away again.
Your account is authorised for 3 boxes, so as long as you're not using any more than that it won't prompt anymore.
