TV app - hiding channels

I suspect I know the answer, but is there any way of hiding channels in the phone app, like you can do on your TV? Just want to see the channels I watch, not hundreds of channels I don't even have (like Sky and NowTV).

Hi @farmersboy

Thanks for coming to the community.

You aren't able to hide the channels within the app, but you can filter them to show certain types, such as HD, entertainment, films and news amongst others.

You can see this option at the bottom left of the channel guide.

Yeah, I found that, and it's about as useful as a handbrake on a boat. If I can do it on my TV, I should be able to do it on the app too.

Unfortunately @farmersboy  I believe the hidden channels only hides channel from the guide  display . Although the App on your mobile device is "paired" with the box it is not directly connected so App as it stands has no knowledge of what channels you have hidden on the box guide,

If Youview had responed to its customers requests or EE/BT  had insisted upon on the ability for customers to properly  customise their channel lists we would have a more customer friendly TV guide.  The "hidden channel" EPG option as implemented whilst welcome really doesn't satisfy the needs of customers.

It's not currently possible to hide channels in the app, and we don't have the ability to find out what channels you've hidden on the TV box.

We are currently in the process of completely re-writing the mobile apps though.  We're happy to listen to feedback and will consider all suggestions made.  I'll add this to the list.

If you're redesigning the app, how about redesigning the god-awful remote too? Whoever was responsible for that needs a word in their ear.

Direct links to psb apps and now TV links would be good.

I am quite sure I remember you saying that EE weren't allowed to do this at the time but maybe the rules on this might have been softened by now.

@Weerab2024 we're already in the process of requesting permission for that.  The aim is to enable as many channels as possible.
