Hi There,
In recent weeks, my partner and I have noticed when coming downstairs in the morning, that both our tv and EE box have been turned on? Sometimes both are on, other times it’s just one or the other. Occasionally, it doesn’t happen at all! Weird! This morning I was woken at 3:30am as I could hear it. Any help or ideas would be great! Thanks

when i click the EE button at top of remote, it turns box and tv on. I can also use volume buttons.
when holding the house button and 7 or 9, there is no flash until I release the buttons. However, despite this, I’m still not able to turn the tv and box off, as you said i should be able to do.

Turning the TV on doesn't prove anything unfortunately - CEC is doing that, not the remote.
When you change the volume, does anyone appear on screen? E.g. a white bar across the top of the screen, going from 0 to 100? Or some other visual indication that the volume is changing?

Yes, when changing volume a bar appears on the right hand side of screen. Volume goes up and down accordingly. Although, volume level differs depending on if I use EE remote or the Hisense tv remote.
would any of this be impacted by the fact that I have a mini box in the bedroom? I am able to use that EE remote to turn the bedroom tv off.

If the bar that appears on screen is the same regardless of TV remote then the EE TV remote is paired correctly. I mentioned that not all TVs are supported - it appears that only some functions of your TV are. Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about this.
Having your other TV box won't affect any of this.

Yes, both controls show a volume bar onscreen, albeit in different positions but not sure that matters.
As you say, perhaps my Hisense tv doesn’t allow for the turning off function. Although, when I googled, I thought it said it did. Nevermind! Thanks for your help

Actually it does matter - if the remote was controlling your TV correctly then the volume bar on screen would be identical. If the remote cannot detect your TV then it defaults to controlling volume on the box itself, where the maximum volume it can go to is the volume that the TV is already set to.
I can confirm from here that your TV Box does NOT currently know what your TV is, but your TV Box Mini doesn't know what model of TV it's connected to either, so I'm very confused as to how that's managing to turn your TV off.
The only thing that's worth checking is that you're using the HDMI cable that came with the TV Box, and that it's connected directly from the TV Box to the TV - not through any other equipment. If it is, then it just sounds like your TV isn't supported.

When controlling the volume via the EE control, the volume bar appears at the top. When using the Hisense control, the bar appears on the right hand side. As I also mentioned, the volume level is different depending what control you use (much quieter on EE control).
This would explain why the lounge tv won’t turn off via EE control. Very odd that EE control turns off bedroom tv though. When setting up both tvs, I paired the control via instructions on website.
HDMI cables are those that came with box and are connected properly.
