When we were switched over to EE the Engineer provided us with a new handset for the TV and we had to return the existing one - which we did. NOW this new handset takes ages to turn the TV ON - but even worse having (we hope) turned the TV off before retiring for the night the TV oftenvswitches itself back on in the small hours causing waste of electricity and annoyance. Now - when one tries to get some assistance itvseems impossible to speak direct with EE. Very POOR!

Hello and welcome to the community!
Firstly, it might be better in the EE home section, instead of the mobile section so that more people can help you.
Just to confirm, this is about the remote turning the TV on itself, rather than the box? There can be issues with TV's turning on as all of them are made differently but usually it's a matter of configuring it properly.
It's definitely possible to reach EE, give them a call on 150 from an EE mobile/landline or 0800 956 6000 from any other mobile.

@MHENRY39 Can’t help but laugh at this.
“the TV oftenvswitches itself back on in the small hours causing waste of electricity and annoyance”
You do known that standby is also wasting electricity. Kill the power at the plug and it solves two problems. It’s around £12 per year on standby. Yes it’s not much but when does not much per year add to a lot over the years. And that’s just the TV at around £12 not the box that’s also on standby.
it costs around this per year to run a TV
and that’s without standby, it’s now starting to add up.

Yep. My setup on standby racks up a bill of £120! Granted I have a niche setup but as you said, it does add up!
