TNT Sports is moving to HBO Max

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have announced changes to how customers access some of their content.

What’s changing?

HBO Max app launches on 26 March 2026.

  • On 26 March, WBD will launch the HBO Max app
  • On the same date, TNT Sports will move from discovery+ to HBO Max

What this means for EE customers

EE customers will retain the ability to watch TNT Sports. App content will now be housed in the HBO Max app rather than the discovery+ app.

EE TV customers can continue to watch TNT Sports TV channels via the TV guide as usual, and if they have a TV box Pro, Edge, or Apple TV 4K, the HBO Max app will be available on those devices from 26th March 2026 (Apple TV 4K customers will need to download the HBO Max app).

See our help page for further information.

Hey @zulu17

CRB - will function the same way. But will be into HBO rather than Discovery.

My Stuff isn't being carried over. They have to set up from scratch.

So are you saying from 26th March EE TV customers will have access to the HBO app and the  Discovery plus app with no increase in costs?

@Col996s if you already have a discovery+ account from EE TV before March 26th, then you'll continue to retain access to it after, as long as you maintain a relevant subscription.

TNT Sports subscribers will have access to TNT Sports in HBO Max.

Now TV Entertainment subscribers will have the option to request HBO Max access for access to Entertainment content.

So yes - some EE TV customers will have access to HBO Max, at no additional cost.

Prices will increase on March 31st as a result of the standard annual price increase - this is unrelated to HBO Max.

What about smart benefit?

Thank you.

Don't get me started on the March increase. I think it's disgusting the amount you put it up over inflation. I wish I had a pay rise of the same percentage.

@Bilbo6 if you have TNT Sports as an EE Mobile add-on then details are available here: https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/pay-monthly/extras-and-add-ons/tv-refresh

You'll lose access to discovery+, and be able to watch TNT Sports in HBO Max instead. There'll be no change to the cost.

But there are other things on Discovery plus that I watch apart from TNT sport. So I will lose access to these programs?

Not if you already have it ! It’s just TNT moving to HBOB max

If your subscription to TNT Sports is through an EE mobile add on or benefit, then you'll lose access to discovery+.

If it's via EE TV, then you'll keep access to discovery+.

Thank you.
