Looking thru various EE and HBO Max promotional advertising of various EETV and direct HBO Max sold packages  this weekend I would like to clarify which packages currently on sale actually include TNT Sports Ultimate channel/stream.  Are there /has there been recently changes to its availability/inclusion  ?

OK, I understand your confusion.  Their plans only mention 4K when including Entertainment - there's no specific Sport plan that mentions 4K.  It does all seem to suggest that sport is only in HD without that premium package.

I have just verified though - my "TNT Sports" subscription included as part of an EE TV subscription does still include 4K. When you buy from BT or EE, it does specifically mention that Ultimate is included (some exceptions apply).

I suspect that it's included when bought directly from HBOMax too, however they're not mentioning that for some reason - possibly due to the very low volume of 4K sport content they have now.

Nothing has changed for over a year (that I'm aware of).

  • Access to the Ultimate stream is included for all in the app.
  • EE TV subscribers get access to the TNT Sports Ultimate channels included when on EE Broadband, and on a broadband line that is fast enough for it.
  • BT Broadband and TNT Sports on Sky subscribers need to pay for the HD add on.

What have you seen that contradicts this?

Looking at hbomax website for example i dont see 4K refered to on their TNT Sports plans other than ones combined with their Premium subscription tier

Actually EE also appear not to be promoting TNT Sport Ultimate in their August advertising  The phase used for example for the EE EETV Big Sport is

Get all 4 TNT Sports channels in HD, a TNT Sports on HBO Max app subscription and all 12 Sky Sports channels in HD from NOW Sports when you take our Big Sport EE TV package.

Where do you see that?  When I go to select a package, even the cheapest one still offers it:

It is before any package is selected  or order process is started.

 if  Sport  selected.

I agree it's not consistent with the messaging - if you scroll to the full works package, it mentions that Ultimate is included, even though it's included in the other packages too.

All packages show the correct information during the order process - that's the important bit.

That's no ture in my case.  I am EE TV subscriber with Sport, I only access SD TNT channels, HD and Ultimate not available via EE TV.  I have to view via HBO Max to get HD/UHD.

EE subscription up next month os currently ocnsidering what to do, not sure signing up to 24 months of TNT sport makes much sense when they lose the CL rights next May, so may just go with a direct streaming sub which can be cancelled over the summer.

It has been included as standard with all new EE TV Sport packages since December 2024.  With your subscription about to expire, you must've joined a few months before then.

You don't need to renew your contract if you don't want to - when your current one expires, you can carry on exactly as you are with your current package.  If you find a need to flex to a different package in future, you can take a new contract at that time. You'll have the option to cancel with 30 days notice as soon as your contract expires.
