Subscribed TV Channels

Good morning,

I am Mike and I have been with BT/EE, TV, since the beginning, mainly for
sports, while surfing the Electronic Guide of the box, I find some anomalies,
also when attempting to go to some channels.

TNT sports channels, I can only watch on HD, when I tried to go to TNT1,
normal channel, I was informed that I will be charged £20, these are not
listed to me in the subscribed list, same with most Sky sports channels,
which are all listed as subscribed.

I find this strange, I do know that I would need to pay for Sky sports, but
why are they listed as being subscribed?

The reason that I was trying to get TNT1 normal, was because the Optical
to Digital headphones were giving out a high-pitched squeal on the HD
and I wanted to try the other channel.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully explaining to an Old Man what he
has done wrong.

Mike.

Good morning,

I am billed by, BT for broadband and digital voice, landline, also
TV & Entertainment, which includes, HD, Now Entertainment
Membership, Netflix Basic and Discovery+ Basic, those two, I
thought were free, but they are not expensive.

I am billed by EE for 2 Mobile Phones SIMs.

On the TV Set, when I go into the "Input", devices, the list from
the top is, TV, EE TV, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, the others for connecting a PC

@McSkirmish

So you don’t have a TNT Sports subscription (or any sports subscription), but may have some sort of legacy arrangement back when BT Sport was free, otherwise you shouldn’t be able to see any sports as live channels I’m guessing?

@McSkirmish  Mike thanks for details.

I believe

Because your EETV is on BT Broadband the administration of your TV account would be by BT (on BT systems) rather than (New) EE (on EE systems). It looks like you probably  have a current Entertainment Pack which would include the Now Entertainment membership channels , Netflix (Basic or Standard depending on when the pack was last contracted) and Discovery+ Basic access . (HD would normally be an optional chargeable monthly addon to that pack).

Looking at a couple of issues you raised.

The TNT sports channels that you have are  not directlly included within that  Entertainment TV pack and would normally be another optional  chargeable addon. If you had a normal Sports add on you would have the SD versions of the TNT Sports channels and also Eurosport 1 and 2  AND if you have the HD addon (which you seem to have added already to your Entertainment TV pack) you would get the TNT Sports and Eurosport channels in HD as well. So the inclusion and access to TNT Sports in HD in the box EPG suggests that historically BT have set those channels up for you  and they have never been removed.

The "more on discovery Plus "problem when watching and selecting it on watching a TNT Sports channel is I suspect due to you having a discovery + basic subscription whereas discovery+ premium would be needed to access (TNT) sport content on discovery +..

So potentially at present you may be receiving more than your present TV packs would normally allow you to access to.  It would seem that BT would have resposibility for any resoultion rather than EE due to the asccount being with them

Thank you, zulu17,

It looks like I am ahead, for some reason or other, so
that is fine with me, I can't ask the BT Community, as
it has closed down, so I will just live with it until another
move comes along.

Thank you, everybody, who took the time to read and try
to help, all your answers were read and appreciated, lots
were actually helpful.

Mike.

The BT Community is still available and both @zulu17 and @Midnight_Voice are also members there.

The BT community is stilll active ,  but like here normal contributors do not have access to account details and some of the developers who used to provide excellent involvement have moved on.

Ten seconds isn’t long enough for the electrons to die. I’d give it two minutes.

But that’s not a factory reset - that’s in Settings/Factory Reset, and on the Box Pro gives you the choice of a full Factory Reset, where you have to set the box up again from scratch, or Keep Recordings, which isn’t quite so drastic.
