Remote control pairing.

I’m looking to buy an LG tv LG 50 Inch 50UT80006LA Smart 4K UHD HDR for my 92 year old dad for his room in his care home. At the moment he has to use two remotes for his tv and his EE box that he has for his football.  It’s not easy getting him to use them when I drop in on Alexa. I’m hoping that the EE control and the control for the above tv will pair up…has anyone ever done this with these two controls.

Hi @Donniemurdo24

LG is on the list and honestly it's a huge brand and will be connectable.

I know your challenge as my Dad is the same with his Sky controller on the Sony TV.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Thanks for replying…it’s bad enough that the WiFi keeps dropping without the carryon with the remotes. I’ve got them on boards with arrows pointing to what he needs to press. Will be great to get one remote to pair as his existing tv control won’t pair…it’s not a great tv at the home. ..thanks again.

@Northerner

I fought shy of saying that, because of the reports of failures to pair with LG TVs in the earlier part of the thread where @Donniemurdo24 originally posted his query on the BT Community:-

The first poster obviously wasn’t using a Box Pro, and  it’s quite possible the subsequent posters were wrong, or missed something, but they planted a seed of doubt…

I’m hoping someone here has the exact LG TV in question.
