You can only record from the TV channels that will appear in the TV guide, which will appear when the TV box is connected to your BT or EE broadband.

There's no recording available from the apps.

thank thats what i thought im on VM at the moment so can only use the App at the moment . i did think it was to do with the Box connection on the HUB 🙂 i just dose not say anywhere in the intro that

Thank You

I am connected to EE Broadband but I am experiencing the same issue.

Now channels and discovery plus channels are not appearing in the tv guide only freeview channels.

What is the fix for this? I am connected to freeview through aerial as in internet mode there were no freeview channels listed.

New customer here and trying to get my head around how this box works but must say its not as good as fire tv box for connection and ease of use and setup, linking soundbars etc.

@NathanG316

Have you passed your activation date, and done everything listed here?

https://ee.co.uk/help/tv-sport/getting-started/set-up-ee-tv-box-pro

Or did you start trying to use the kit before your activation date? In which case, factory reset it and try again.

If still no go, @DarrenDev can look and see if EE have muffed up your account configuration and what to do about that, but that might not be until Tuesday now.

The reason that the EE instructions don’t talk about linking soundbars is because it is quite outside the scope of setting up the EE boxes (and while I’m not surprised that Sky talk about it, as they connect them in a strange non-standard way, I’m surprised that the Fire box does, as I’d expect it to be similarly out of scope).

But if your soundbar has HDMI, you connect it to the HDMI input on your TV which is labelled ARC or eARC. Use a High Speed HDMI cable, and if both TV and soundbar are eARC, make sure the HDMI cable is a ‘with Ethernet’ one.

If your soundbar hasn’t got HDMI, you probably want to use Optical from TV to soundbar; but now we are getting into the realms of why the EE instructions don’t cover the connection of unknown soundbars to unknown TVs 😛

Though if you post the make and model of the TV and of the soundbar, I will be able to tell you exactly what your options are there.

@NathanG316 your activation date is this Thursday.  It won't start working on the TV Box until then.
