We've just changed from Sky to EE. Upon setting TV up it looks like you can't record from a mini box but only from the main box, and if I'm right, what is more concerning is we can't watch our recordings on any other box other than the main one. Is this correct? If we had another primary box, could we watch our recordings on that?
I hope someone will clarify

I've moved from sky to EE due to massive price increase
Kinda new what I was getting in to when I signed up the savings in cost alone is almost £65 .00 per month sky was wanting £99.00 for basic TV no sports or cinema
Yes sky has a lot more content to view than EE TV but you can only watch one channel at a time
Ps I have the basic package no sports or cinema with EE for for £46.00 per month it will do me

I transferred to EE from BT and it was definitely out of the frying pan and into the fire. With BT I had two TV Box Pros. These were connected to two separate TVs in different rooms. I had no need to record on one box but watch on the other so this was not a problem for me. When I moved to EE the two TV Box Pros were not allowed although this had never been advised to me. I complained to EE and they sent me a foc mini box which they said would avoid the conflict but they didn't mention that this could not record programmes. I have just discovered this shortcoming when I tried to set up the mini box to record some 6 Nations rugby and got the error message "We can't add this to my TV as it isn't available On Demand"! I'm going to see if I can watch the particular programme on Discovery+ which streams some sport programmes otherwise EE will get another letter from me.
I really can't see why EE has a problem when BT had been giving me service on two TV Box Pros for some time.
In any event it's about time EE got into the 21st century. I have noticed that EE has a great solution for handling complaints - they put you into an endless queue and hope you go away!

Hi Chris
I had the same problem when I moved from Virgin Media. However, I bought an additional pro box from CeX for £105.00 and it was brand new, so I have a pro box in both rooms - both recordable.
Just go to the CeX website and have a browse and see what they've got. Good luck.

I'm sure I've read that you can use a TV Box Pro in place of the Mini as you only need the Multiroom sub that is provided as a result of getting the additional Mini Box, you don't necessarily have to use the device itself.
Not an official solution by any means, EE won't be able to supply a second Box Pro or support you with it, but it is one solution that has worked successfully for some.
If you still have the second TV Box Pro, try using it in place of the Mini after a reset.

Hi @ChrisT71 If you were supplied with a Box.Pro as a second box by BT then that is likely to have been an error. The Box Pro is available as a main (firstbox) and the Extra Box addon would be a Box Mini. Historically with BT ( before the Box Pro was introduced) BT customers may had been supplied with an Recordable box on an earlier contract which they retained ownership of. So historically a BT customer may have had a (loaned) Box Pro and an Extra Box subscription ( that used their older owned Recordable box).
In practice if you had the extra box addon with EE/BT and were supplied a loan BOX Mini to use, should you have your own Recordable box you could currently simply unplug the Mini , put your Recordable box in its place and it would function.
So in summary theEE policy of supplying Minis as the extra Box is what BT should have been following.

I am in the same situation. When I spoke to EE I told the rep that I had the full Sky package with mini box and my decision get EE was on the basis that the EE package had exactly the same content as Sky. Including mini box and all relevant applications. I’ve just set it all up and this is the situation I’m in now. Been sold a bit of a pup and may go back to Sky
