I understand the new EE TV Service has just been launched, including via a customised EE Apple TV 4K box. I currently have Sky Stream so EE TV via an Apple TV box is a. good proposition. It would be great to hear reviews of the service via Apple TV from those who are early adopters of the service (I assume some trials must have taken place too)

Yes @Elliot1983 I'm afraid the channels are restricted to only Apple TVs provided as part of the subscription. This is a requirement of our content providers. The bug that allowed all devices to access it (in certain scenarios) has since been fixed.
Great to hear that you're happy with the new service though.

@Elliot1983,
On an iOS device go into settings > TV Provider.
From there you can login to your EE account from there, assuming all steps are done correctly when logging back onto the EE app on your ATV. After a refresh Freeview channels should appear.
This is how it works in other continents. Yet to decide on my choice whether to go with EE yet but leaning more towards yes.
@fdare any update on the pause/rewind functionality yet? I did also read that when clicking on some TV channels they launch in the providers app, which channels is this please?
Thanks, and let me know how it goes Elliot.

Not here @joegannon27 - the Freeview channels are only available on the device provided as part of the EE TV subscription.
Pause/rewind also isn't currently available on Apple TV.

Thanks @DarrenDev
What about when some channels launch in other apps? Which are these?

Hi Darren, will updates be pushed out automatically? Or do we have to update via the App Store?

@joegannon27 none of the channels currently launch other apps - they all stream from us.
@Aaron_g1986 updates are pushed automatically via the App Store - make sure you leave automatic updates turned on in the App Store settings.

Does anyone have experience if the new Apple TV box on EE TV. I haven’t found any user reviews yet except a clip on YouTube. I still have Sky stream, after having Sky Q which are well reviewed on line.

Hi, I have had the Apple TV EE 4k box for about ten days now. The EE TV app comes pre-installed but apart from that and a bespoke remote its just your standard Apple TV box. The EE TV app is quite well laid out in my opinion, its not too cluttered on the home page but it shows you all the top content from BBC/ITV etc as well as what is currently on. The TV guide section is also quite well laid out and there is also the option to purchase films/tv shows from EE.
This may not be relevant for you personally but I am blind and from an accessibility point of view the app works well with voiceover and you can watch live TV with audio description.
As has been mentioned on here you can't currently pause live TV which is a bit of an issue but maybe this feature will come down the line.
Definitely worth switching from Sky in my opinion especially with the option of more flexible TV packages.

Thanks for the feedback. There’s definitely few user reviews around right now. I’ve had Sky stream since it came out which is well laid out although the box is still quite buggy. I already have Apple TV 4 K and it’s so much better than the Sky Stream box, so potentially I may make the move to EE TV when there’s a bit more user experience. Is there any playlist type feature to save programmes?

not that I know of but I could be wrong
