My remote has worked fine up to today.

This afternoon I switched on the TV Box Pro and the TV using the remote as normal. It came on OK on channel 3, which I had last been viewing, but with no overlay of information. The only buttons on the remote which give any response are the volume control, the mute button and the input selection button, which can be changed with the central control. The on/off button now only switches the TV off or on. It does not switch off the TV Box. I have tried resetting linking the remote (Home + 9 and Home + 7): No change. I do not fully understand the instruction for resetting the box. Found button on end of box, but not the power button. If this is the roughly 1 inch square panel on the front of the box, it does not seem to move. In particular, holding the Home button does NOT bring up the control screen on the TV. Before I contact the technical team, does anyone have any experience of this? or any tips to cure it? I don't want to be restricted to watching ITV for the rest of my life!

Thanks for the advice.
I had the mains disconnected from the box overnight. When I plugged it in again this morning the power button declared itself by flashing. I was able to do a quick box reset (Power button + button on right-hand end) and everything is back to normal.

Hi @Jackdawing

Could you try resetting the TV box by unplugging it from the mains for 30 seconds or so please? Let me know if that helps fix the problem you have with the remote.

Chris

@Jackdawing

For future reference, the one inch square on the TV Boxes is the IR window.

It cannot be depressed by EETV customers; though EETV customers can be very easily depressed by their TV Boxes.

What does IR stand for? The only thing I can find is Infra-red, which does not seem to apply here.

@Jackdawing

You got it, it’s Infra Red.

While these boxes have Bluetooth remotes, they still have an IR sensor to respond to traditional IR remotes, and will continue to, even if they have been paired with a Bluetooth one.

Hi. I'm new to this too.

On/off button on front is the ee motif in blue not the inch square you mentioned.  Sorry can't be more help .

Thanks. It made itself obvious by flashing at me! All sorted.
